Mighty Hook-Up
RESEARCHERS at the National University of Singapore
will be able to run complex experiments like financial modelling
and protein analysis using the largest computer grid to be set
up in one location here.
The grid, to be built at the Kent Ridge Campus, will tap the
unused computing resources of 800 PCs and will slash the time
needed
to run complex experiments - from days to just hours.
Costing $500,000, the Tera-Scale Campus Grid@NUS will be completed
in about three months.
