What is cloud computing:
Cloud computing creates a shared computing infrastructure from physical and virtual resources to deliver application environments according to workload-aware and resource-aware policies. Cloud computing eliminates over-purchase of systems to meet peak demand, resulting in lower CapEx and higher utilization. Cloud computing management software works to deliver the right systems to meet application requirements in a timely and cost effective manner. It also efficiently arbitrates resource usage among competing tenants to align with business priorities.

Course Objectives:
This 5-day course is a combination of a overview of cloud technologies, architecture, theory, and market trends which will provide the participants a deeper understanding of cloud computing. Participants will also be introduced to HPC Cloud including sample use cases and demonstrations. At the end of the course participants will be sufficiently equipped to evaluate, analyze and build a basic cloud computing infrastructure.

Target Audience:
This course is suitable for IT directors, managers, developers, systems administrators, and IT infrastructure engineers who need to understand and implement a cloud computing infrastructure.

Course Content:

Day 1-3: Introduction to cloud technologies, theories and architecture. Review of Cloud computing market trends and industry directions.

Day 4-5: Overview of HPC Cloud as a specific Cloud use case. Introduction to HPC; Overview of components of a HPC environment; specifically Platform HPC. Explore and discuss Cloud cases to review how the technology is used currently. Demonstration of Platform HPC solution.
