Abstract

Cloud Computing technologies are providing significant value to businesses - technology providers as well as consumers - in creating innovative delivery and consumption models. While there are many cloud deployment models that are available for use, a significant number of clients interviewed preferred private clouds over public or hybrid clouds. Due to the benefits they provide, private clouds are being used today by major businesses around the world to transform their IT and application delivery services in very interesting ways.

In this session, we will discuss the key characteristics of private clouds that are enabling this innovation and will provide an insight into what makes private clouds work with a some real case studies. We will also look at the kind of business workloads that are best suited for private clouds and will deliver the maximum ROI in a short time. Finally, we will look at some of the existing technologies and enablers that make it easy to deploy private clouds in an enterprise environment. At the end of this session, you will be well equipped to evaluate the suitability of private clouds for the workloads in your enterprise and would have a view into the next steps for deploying one.
