SINGAPORE, 11 JULY 2008—Three Consortia To Be First National Grid Service Providers.
The InfoComm Development Authority (IDA) today awarded three consortia,
headed by Singapore Computer Systems Ltd, PTC System (S) Pte Ltd and New
Media Express Pte Ltd, to be the first National Grid service providers.
The National Grid, according to the IDA, is built upon commercial grid
service providers, and seeks to make IT services affordable for businesses
via a pay-per-use model.
The chosen service providers are expected to offer commercial services by
year-end.
The IDA expects more than 3,000 small and medium enterprises to utilise the
National Grid by 2011.
