Abstract

Environment issues such as global warming are garnering a lot of public attention lately. This relates to the heavy regional rains and flood in Asia, with these phenomena occuring around narrow regions. It is difficult to observe and predict using existing public services because such services do no have sufficient resolution in both aspects of time and space, as the preparation cost increases with increase in resolution. In Japan, the Live E! Project has been establised in order to monitor our environment with more flexibility. This project is a grassroot-led project. The number of weather sensors is widespread. In this presentation, we will introduce some activities of Live E! Project, its technologies and applications.
