Abstract
Over
the recent year, there has been a lot of progress in the
development of Grid technology, middleware and application.
Grid, started of with the idea of sharing resources for
scientists, has slowly beginning to impact the commercial
segment. In this talk, the speaker will discuss how scientists,
engineers and commercial users are using the Grid.

Simon
See is currently the Chief Technologist for Global
Science and Technology Network of Sun Microsystems
Inc, Asia and also an Adjunct Associate Professor in
Nanyang Technological University and National University
of Singapore. His research interest is in the area
of High Performance Computing, computational science,
Applied Mathematics and simulation methodology. He
has published over 40 papers in these areas and have
won various awards.
Dr.
See graduated from University of Salford (UK) with a
Ph.D. in electrical engineering and numerical analysis
in 1993. Prior to joining Sun, Dr See worked for SGI,
DSO National Lab. of Singapore, IBM and International
Simulation Ltd (UK). |
