Abstract of talk
United
Devices operates some of the largest Internet-wide
public Grid projects at grid.org. These include the Anthrax
and Smallpox Research Projects in collaboration with Intel,
Microsoft, University of Oxford and IBM. It supplies the
software platform to NTT Data's broadband Internet grid,
Cell Computing project, involving more than 12,000 computers.
Among its corporate customers are pharmaceutical company
Novartis and Johnson & Johnson, which operate their
own enterprise grids. In this talk, Mr. Sridhar will share
the experiences and perspectives from those operational
grids.
Biodata
Sravish
Sridhar is currently Country Head, India Operations, United
Devices. He has been part of the founding development team
of United Devices that managed, architected and implemented
the Grid MP and the Global MetaProcessor software from
the very beginning. He has worked with Grid teams on the
US TeraGrid project, UK eScience Grid initiative and India
I-Grid Project, to create country wide grids in the respective
countries. He has also worked with many enterprise grid
projects, including those in the life sciences industry
and financial services.
